EVERYONE…

Hey.. I feel compelled to write this since i’m getting a bunch of mails concerning cancelled shows(I hear you).. - - Right before i embarked on this edan/prefuse73 tour, i was diagnosed with some pretty scary and challenging things to deal with regarding my mind and health.. (that’s all i want to go into it as far as details are concerned.))) I thought I would just plow through these shows and deal with my problems from the road because i’m a stubborn old man. Instead, my friends, my doctors, and everyone I know have strongly advised me to not go through with this tour or at least shorten it… My point is this_ I am so very sorry for having to cancel the routing of the tour for the cats that won’t be able to see us. I’m thinking of a way to make it up. I think disappointing fans is the worst feeling when all the touring i do is for the fans - i do not go home rich, we still play in mid size clubs to the heads… So far you’ve been so great to Edan/Dagha and Prefuse… The shows have been very fun+ forgive my groggy existence. Thank you so much. Please no worries for me, i’m under great care. + I’ll update the dates ok? GRACIAS!!! GSH.

Silversun Pickups‘ Carnavas has been released to those who do battle with a keyboard and pen, better known as music journalists and bloggers. As expected it is nothing less than spectacular, Dodge over at MOKB is practically speechless or should I say type-less? Though he has managed to post a couple tracks, Dream at Tempo 119 and Lazy Eye. Those of you who have followed the band for quite some time will recognize both songs from the band’s first 4-song self-released ep/demo, though these versions have been altered and re-recorded.

Anyone who has caught the band live recently should also recognize Future Foe Senario, Waste It On, Rusted Wheel, and I believe they also have been playing Well Thought Out Twinkles, though I’m not certain. Below is the track listing to Carnavas which hits stores shelves on July 25th.

I wasn’t able to make it to either of these shows last week, Division Day at the Detroit Bar on Thursday and Birdmonster at Spaceland on Firday. Andy Granelli, drummer for Darker My Love, was in a bike accident the other day and broke both his arms forcing the band to cancel both of their shows tonight, one with Angels & Airwaves at the Troubadour and the other at Safari Sam’s for the Check Yo’ Ponytail party.
