Sorry for the lack of activity around here this week, I have been just too worn out, both physically and mentally, to get on the computer in the evenings. I did go see Great Northern last night, they were spectacular and their live sound is just as lush as it is on their album, also check out this nice article on Great Northern’s drummer and Hermosa Beach resident, Dave Latter, in last week’s LA Weekly.
Ok, on to Look Daggers, who at their core are 2Mex (Visionaries, Of Mexican Descent) and keyboardist Ikey Owens (The Mars Volta, Free Moral Agents), who began collaborating together with intention of making a Hip Hop album performed by human beings. Though it wasn’t before long that Owens and 2Mex desired to add some rock hooks to their songs which led them to assemble a permanent live band.
Taking 3 tracks from their debut LP, Suffer in Style that will see release later this Fall, Look Daggers will release a limited edition 4 song ep, The Patience EP, that includes 3 tracks from Suffer in Style, with the 4th track being a Look Daggers Remix of the Free Moral Agent’s track, “Six Degrees” ft. Life Rexall & Coaxial. The The Patience EP will only be availble at shows, onlline, and select record stores.
Look Daggers perform this Friday, May 18th, at Mensa (343 Pacific Ave.) in Long Beach, and again at the Troubadour on Friday, May 25th.
