Nurses Hang Nothin But Their Hands Down

nursesnewpic.jpg

Sorry Cat Dirt, but I heard about Nurses a while ago, summer of 2005 I think (I wish I still had those demos, cause they don’t sound much like the band does today), from a friend of Randy from Finch (who’s always championing local bands). Their debut album Hangin Nothin’ But Our Hands Down is out now (self released with the help of their management) and even comes with a little magnifying glass in the insert.

It took a little while for me to get into this album (but usually that’s a sign of a long lasting album in my case), at first I was attracted to the simpler traditional verse-chorus-verse songs like “Hungry Mouth”, but the more I listened to the disc the more I found myself getting into the less structured fair like “And Now The Curse Of Marjorie” and “Lots of Brass” and even digging the Cold War Kids-ish track “Alone At Last”.
