Cat Fur the band and the million clever puns that await them

I have to admit it was Cat Fur‘s myspace profile pic that initially prompted me to check them out. And what was so intriguing about said pic? Since it definitely wasn’t their choice in a band name. Well, a beautiful girl of course, who is the fetching Jera Wood that plays the drums standing up a la Slim Jim Phantom.
This was enough for me (really I’m not that shallow, check it out for yourself and tell me you wouldn’t have done the same…guys and girls alike) to decide to gamble my time expecting it to be a purely wasted. But low and behold, upon checking out Cat Fur I was more than pleasantly surprised when I was met with a lo-fi smattering of 60′s garage rock that radiated from their page.
Hailing from Fullerton, CA, Cat Fur are more than your typical band with a requisite cute girl it, they are a dymanic act that display just the right amount of cool confidence in their songs and as well as on stage, or so I have been led to believe. And we’ll have a few opportunities fo confirm whether such claims are true as Cat Fur will be playing Orange County, Long Beach, and Los Angeles in the next month, beginning tonight at Taco Tuesday at eVocal in Costa Mesa.
August 14th @ eVocal – Costa Mesa
August 19th @ Que Sera – Long Beach
September 28th @ The Smell – Los Angeles
