West Indian Girl

West Indian Girl are everything Perry Ferrell wishes Satellite Party was. Robert James (vocals/guitar) and Francis Ten (bass) of West Indian Girl and rest of their recently assembled six member group have effectively fused pieces of the Jane’s Addiction sound, 90’s electronic music, and sunny California pop, to form a more perfect concoction than the man himself is trying to do with his current incarnation, Satellite Party.
Not something I would listen to on a regular basis, West Indian Girl, register in the same space as Office, they write really catchy pop songs that I am a little embarrassed to admit that I like. I know I know, my musical tastes are all over the place, sorry if I am bumming out any of you who come here for the harder stuff.
Releasing their sophmore effort today, 4th & Wall, West Indian Girl have transformed from the once previous 2-piece electronic project signed to Astralworks, to a full 6-piece art pop group on the cosmopolitan label, Milan Records, who may be best known for their soundtrack releases.
