Nudity tonight at the Scene Bar

Don’t make the mistake of assuming a band with a name like Nudity is an ill-conceived late-to-the-party electroclash band, as you will surely miss out on some really exciting swirling psychedelic Hawkwind meets The Velvet Underground riding the MC5 express rock n roll. Nudity, another band featuring former Tight Bros members, hails from Olympia, WA and are playing the Scene Bar tonight with the Santa Cruz N.W.O.B.H.M. worshippers, Trigger Renegade.
I was lucky enough to catch this same line up on Monday night at the Mountain Bar with about 15 or so individuals, half of which were friends of or in Trigger Renegade. A pretty lame turn out even for a holiday and one only compounded by the fact that all local media seemed to have slept on this band (with the San Diego reader being the only exception who gave Nudity’s Casbah show a one sentence plug).
Nudity have in tow with them their brand new hot off the presses Discourage Records release, The Nightfeeders, that on side one features a twenty minute long jam that dwarfs in the length all their previous self-released output, and on other side, a remix of the same song, called the “Concentrick Mix”, by Tim Green who basically extends the opening sequence and then adds his own fucked up fuzzed out guitar work to the mix.
Pedal junkies and guitar effects freaks take note, Nudity is heavy on both and also make liberal use of the ebow.
See Nudity tonight at the Scene Bar in Glendale (806 E Colorado St) with Trigger Renegade, Stab City, Head of Destiny, and The Greatest Touchdown Ever Scored.
