Longhair Illuminati Art and Music Festival this weekend

Casket Salesmen’s Phil Pirrone can now add festival organizer to his bulging resume that also includes accomplished musician, label owner, and promoter, as his First Annual Longhair Illuminati Art and Music Festival comes to fruition this Saturday in Chino.
Pirrone explains the impetus behind the organization of the festival is his desire to, “bring something beautiful and eclectic to the Inland Empire, these people deserve something cool, and no one is giving it to them.”
Pirrone is absolutely right, there is dearth of cultural gatherings of this nature in the Inland Empire (I know, I lived in Pomona 5 years during college), and anyone looking for an event similar to the one Phil is putting on, is usually forced to get in their car and drive anywhere from 60 to 100 miles away and pay an excess of $30 per ticket.
The great thing about Pirrone’s festival is that it’s FREE.
Pirrone says “I wanted it to be free, I wanted it to be simple, and I wanted it to be fun. I feel like we have a great lineup of bands and artists and I hope to have thousands of people come and learn about all this great stuff.”
My first thought is this sounds a lot like the Eagle Rock Music Festival, another great local alternative free festival that brings together Eagle Rock and the surrounding communities, in an incredibly laid back atmosphere.
So if don’t have any plans this weekend, do yourself a favor and check out the Longhair Illuminati Art and Music Festival on Saturday afternoon. If Pirrone and company are able to pull off even half of what the Eagle Rock festival has become over the years in just Illuminati’s first year, they will have the beginnings of a great annual festival on their hands.
