RTX hail from right down the street in Sunset Beach from me in Long Beach, and in the spirit of full disclosure, I must let you I am friends with a couple of the folks in this band, but that doesn’t take away from the fact that they’ve created an arena sized piece of Rock N’ Roll with their new album, JJ GOT LIVE RaTX. The album doesn’t hit store shelves until later this month (October 21st) via Drag City, but I just happened to get a copy of the it on wax today. Now I have heard this album in it’s many stages of completion, but hadn’t truly heard it until I got home this evening and slapped this bad boy on the old turntable and broke out my sleeveless denim and went searching for a copy of Heavy Metal Parking Lot. The depiction of that event should be all that is needed to urge to check this album out.
Now RTX was supposed to embark on a US tour this month, but had to cancel at the last minute today due to a family emergency, so all those of you waiting for your Herrema fix are going to just have to wait a little while longer (like next Spring).
