For Cheap (almost free); The Henry Clay People this Thursday at The Prospector in Long Beach

[I am pretty much incapacitated this week which will affect posting here for the next couple days, though I do hope to make it out to this show tomorrow night in addition to going to see Sleepy Sun at Alex's.]
The Henry Clay People’s new album, For Cheap or For Free, is the best album The Hold Steady didn’t put out this year, in fact it’s the album that I wish they had put out (so to speak) instead of super bland Stay Positive. With Cheap or For Free, The Henry Clays have crafted a masterful album of blue collar American bar rock that takes it’s cues from The Boss, Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers and The Replacements, and is the perfect soundtrack to making it through the 9 to 5 on into the night when you can forget about all the day’s B.S.
