VOICEsVOICEs are setting out on a West Coast tour, presented by Manimal Vinyl Records, beginning tonight in Los Angeles at Spaceland and heading to Costa Mesa tomorrow for the opening reception of the “Transcend.I.Omatic Method”: Asserting the Fundamental Irrationality of the Human Sub-Conscious exhibition at the World Gallery. Accompanying VOICEsVOICEs on this two and half week journey that ends in Joshua Tree on March 6th are Corridor and Alexandra Hope.
First coming to my attention via Rock Insider and then Surfing On Steam, VOICEsVOICEs fit right in sonically with my current obsession with the multitudinous side projects of the Magic Lantern fellows. VOICEsVOICEs is just two women, Nico Turner and Jenean Farris, creating beautiful and haunting soundtracks that utilize the human voice in ways not often heard in Western culture.

In addition to the track above, make sure to head over to iTunes and pick up the other two tracks from VOICEsVOICEs’ Sounds Outside EP, as your listening experience will not quite be complete without the inclusion of EP’s title track and “Flulyk”.

FRIDAY, February 20th: VOICEsVOICEs w/Corridor, Alexandra Hope @ World Gallery (1980 Placentia Ave, Costa Mesa) 7pm | All Ages
