Kylesa at the Echoplex tonight

Kylesa are heavy as shit and their new album, Static Tensions, can be described using cliche metal verbs like crushing and pummeling, but what you might not expect is that it is also down right catchy. I haven’t been there since the beginning (2001), it was only a couple years ago that I got into the band, and my anticipation for the release of Static Tensions (out now on Prosthetic Records) was only amplified by the earlier announcement of the band’s support slot on one of this spring’s biggest tours, that unfortunately doesn’t have a proper Los Angeles show.

Worry not though, Kylesa are in town tonight playing a one-off show at the Echoplex while their tour mates, Mastodon, hit the desert for Coachella this weekend.
