Five Lovelies from Chapel Hill
I’ve listened to the song, “Can You Dig It”, quite a few times today, it’s a real sticker, which seems to be the general consensus around the web.
Violet Vector and the Lovely Lovelies [according to them] are the sunbeam sugarplum sound you’ve been waiting for. If you ask them if they can dig it, they will tell you that they can. If you ask them if they they like to wear kneesocks, they will tell you that they do. With every handclap, you will feel a rainbow and unicorn jump out of your heart.
I’m not going to argue.
If you don’t have tickets to The Pipettes at the Troubadour on the 11th, might I suggest streaming the 3 songs on VVLL’s MySpace over and over again. It’s less sugary, goes down better, and sticks to your ribs longer than The Pipettes do anyway.
Download “Can You Dig It” (mp3) from the band’s forthcoming EP.
