Ken Andrews New Solo Album

Unfortunately one of the shows I missed last week due to being sick was Ken Andrews‘ Troubadour performance, as well as his in store at Fingerprints here in Long Beach, as he was out supporting his new solo release, Secrets of the Lost Satellite. This also being his first time touring since 2003, when last he was playing in Year of the Rabbit. Luckily, Drew from Amateur Chemist and Matt from CA vs. KS both made it out to the Troubadour and reported back.

Co-produced with Justin Meldal-Johnsen (Beck, IMA Robot) and Jordon Zadorozny (Blinker the Star, Abbey), Andrews initially wrote all the lyrics and core instrumentals of each song on Secrets of the Lost Satellite and then went in the studio with Justin and Jordon who brought in Beck’s live backing band to riff on and over dub on top of Andrews inital work.

Anyone who is a fan of Andrews‘ prior work (Failure, ON, Year of the Rabbit), or his former Failure bandmate, Greg Edwards, current band, Autolux, should take some time out to listen to Secrets of the Lost Satellite.
